Notifications in the bell and on your phone

Find new tasks in the bell and choose whether they should also reach your phone or your e-mail.

For owners and users

The bell in the app

You find the bell in the app header next to your account. Its number shows how many notifications you have not read yet. You only see the bell when the app sends you notifications.

Click a notification to mark it as read and open the page it is about. Mark all as read clears the number at once. The bell keeps your latest 30 notifications from the last 90 days.

How notifications reach you

  1. Open the settings

Click the bell and then the gear. You see every notification the app can send you.

  2. Tick the ways

For each notification, choose whether you want it on your phone or computer, in the bell, or by e-mail. Only the options your app offers are shown.

  3. Check the mark

A notification arrives once, by the first ticked option from the top that works right now. The mark on the right shows how it will arrive. If you switch everything off, the settings warn you that it will not reach you at all.

Notifications on your phone or computer

  1. Switch them on for the device

In the bell settings, click Switch on next to This device. Your browser asks whether the site may show notifications; choose Allow. You switch on each phone and computer separately.

  2. iPhone and iPad

Notifications arrive only in the app added to your home screen. Open the app in Safari, choose Share and Add to Home Screen, then open it from the icon. If that does not work, ask the owner to enable adding the app to the home screen.

  3. If your browser blocks them

If you blocked notifications before, allow them in your browser’s site settings and reload the page. Then switch the device on again.

After you sign out, notifications stop coming to that device. When a colleague signs in on the same computer, they only get their own notifications.

Questions

Notifications do not reach my phone.

In the bell settings, check that This device says notifications arrive here and that To your phone or computer is ticked for the notification. On iPhone, open the app from its home screen icon. Also check that your phone is not in Do Not Disturb.

Why is there no By e-mail option?

The app sends e-mails only when its owner has paid for e-mail credits. Until then, notifications go to the bell. Your setting stays saved, and e-mail appears as soon as the app offers it.

Will I get the same notification twice?

No. A notification arrives one way only. When it arrives on your phone, the bell keeps a read copy so you can find it later.
